R.S. Vern is the owner and creator of an award winning cat book trilogy series: Haee and the Other Middlings. Part One of this series, Haee The Cat with a Crooked Tail won the International IndieReader Discovery Award in 2013.
In 2012, Vern hovered between a book and strong waters addict, and spent most of her days (and nights) monologuing with her cat at home. Her black cat, Haee was patient and at most times, nonchalant about her presence. One afternoon, she had a moment of insight that perhaps Haee did have lots to say except in a different language. She then decided to render a voice to Haee and started a world of middlings from the perspective of Haee.
First conceptualised as a book series for children and adults, Vern later expanded the book series as a brand business and launched a line of product merchandises based on its famous cat protagonist, Haee and the other middling characters. The world of middlings takes a meaningful jab at middle class poignancy of the 21st century and provides a delightful read at what it means to be functioning, breathing, and living as we are today, all through the eyes of an ingenious cat.
In 2023, Scribbles from the Middling Cat, a sequel to the series was published in the genre of poetry and prose.
R.S. Vern holds a B.A. in English Literature, an M.A. in Communications, and a G.D. in Applied Positive Psychology.
An oddly conflicted soul, R.S. Vern is a middling.
