R.S. Vern is the owner and creator of an award winning cat book trilogy series: Haee and the Other Middlings®. Part One of this series, Haee The Cat with a Crooked Tail won the International IndieReader Discovery Award in 2013.
She believes a meaningful and wise life is not found through extraordinary achievement, but through learning to accept the imperfect life we already have. She reckons that joy can be found in the ordinariness of everyday and that as long as we continue our search, hope will always find its way back to us. Her book series “Haee and the Other Middlings”, stretching from graphic novels, to prose, and most recently, a literary novel, explores profound questions of meaning, belonging, and the quiet beauty of ordinary life.
The world of middlings takes a meaningful jab at middle class poignancy of the 21st century and provides a delightful read at what it means to be functioning, breathing, and living as we are today, all through the eyes of an ingenious cat.
Her latest work is a literary fiction novel. She continues to write, not because she can afford to, but because she wants to. There is still much to be said.
R.S. Vern holds a B.A. in English Literature, an M.A. in Communications, and a G.D. in Applied Positive Psychology.
